Peran guru dalam pengembangan kurikulum pai berbasis multikultural

Abstract
Islamic religious education in Indonesia must be able to instill the values of tolerance, inclusivity, and respect for diversity through the development of a curriculum that is responsive to a multicultural society, given the social, cultural, and religious diversity present in the country. However, research on the role of teachers in the development of a multicultural-based Islamic religious education curriculum remains relatively limited and tends to focus more on the implementation of instruction. This study employs a qualitative approach and utilizes sampling methods. This study examines the role of teachers in all aspects of curriculum development, including planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results indicate that teachers play a strategic role as designers, implementers, developers, and evaluators of the curriculum by integrating the principles of tolerance, justice, inclusivity, and respect for diversity into the objectives, content, methods, media, and assessment of instruction. Thus, an effective, adaptive, and sustainable multicultural Islamic religious education curriculum requires the enhancement of teachers’ competencies, continuous professional development, and institutional support.
